Members of Omicron Epsilon Pi, Incorporated have an interest in aiding the homeless community. 20 to 30 percent of homeless youth are lesbian, gay or transgender. This brings to our attention the dangers and inequalities faced by the LGBT youth population, LGBT youth among others face violence at shelters, and from some service providers.
The question is how do we assist in this matter, what can our organization contribute? Based on these results we should take the responsible actions and the education needed to address these issues. Family conflict is the primary cause there are so many LGBT homeless. In other words if we can do a part in relieving violence and hatred on our LGBT youth homeless as well as others it would be a great contribution.
